Privacy Policy

L’Ambroisie et L’Espace Canal (“L’Ambroisie”, “we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and how to exercise your rights, under Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

Information we collect

  • Contact and booking form: name, company (optional), email, phone, desired date, type of event, number of guests and your description.
  • Emails and calls: what you send us when you write or call.
  • Job applications: the résumé and information you email us for a job.
  • Newsletter: your name and email if you subscribe (the sign-up form is hosted by our newsletter provider).
  • Browsing the site: our web host records technical data (IP address, browser, pages viewed) for security. To limit abuse of the form, we keep a one-way encrypted fingerprint of your IP address for 10 minutes.

Why we use it

  • To answer your questions, prepare a quote and organize your event;
  • To assess applications for our job openings;
  • To send you the newsletter if you subscribed (you can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email);
  • To keep the site secure and, only with your consent, measure its traffic.

We do not sell your personal information and do not use it for other purposes without your consent, unless the law allows it.

Cookies and third-party services

  • amb_consent: remembers your choice (accept or decline) for 6 months. Needed for the site to work.
  • amb_lang: remembers the site language (French or English) for 1 year, chosen with the FR/EN link or, on your first visit, from your browser’s language. Needed for the site to work.
  • Google Analytics (_ga cookies): anonymized traffic measurement, loaded only if you click “Accept”. You can change your mind at any time: Cookie choices.
  • Google Maps and our Instagram feed (Meta, through LightWidget): they load only if you click “Accept”, or “Show the map” or “Show the Instagram feed”. Those services then apply their own policies.

Who we share it with

Only our staff who need it have access. We use the following providers, bound by contract and allowed to use your information only for our purposes:

  • Microsoft (Microsoft 365): email;
  • A2 Hosting (hosting.com): website hosting;
  • our newsletter provider: subscriptions and mailings;
  • Google: traffic statistics, only with your consent.

Some of these providers store data outside Quebec, including in the United States. Before entrusting them with information, we make sure they offer adequate protection.

How long we keep it

  • Inquiries and quotes that did not proceed: 3 years after the last contact. Contact form messages are also kept in the site’s admin area, open only to authorized staff, and deleted automatically after 3 years;
  • Event and billing records: 7 years, as tax laws require;
  • Job applications: 12 months;
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe;
  • Google Analytics: at most 14 months.

After that, the information is securely destroyed or anonymized.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, the admin area is password-protected and limited to authorized people, and our providers apply recognized security measures. If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify you and the Commission d’accès à l’information.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete or receive your information in a structured technological format, and withdraw your consent at any time. Write to the Privacy Officer at marketing@ambroisie.ca; we will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top of the page shows the latest change.
